Yes and sooner or later people are going to be scared of those who do have the attention span to finish something like that and we'll introduce laws banning books and long videogames and start burning houses down if we find any in them.

Florida has a 7% sales tax, which isn't that bad compared to other states, based on what I've heard.

Doesn't Florida have a 6% with the option to go to 7%?  I could swear Gainesville's is actually a tiny bit over 6%.

Maybe that's another reason why Gainesville is better than Tallahassee...

6% where I live.

6.25% for the state, plus 2% local.  No income tax, though, and I'm thankful that trying to create one is still political suicide.

Not sure how Washington's works but I think it is officially 6.5% but everywhere you go you end up paying almost 10% sales tax (Like a $20 product will cost $22).

funny you speak of libraries, i wen t to go to my library here in Yuma Az, only to find out that the library had moved to main street..the asshole of Yuma, i drive to main street and go into the moved library. The library now really sucks, it went from being large to being tiny, and cramped. I was pissed.
