Another GBA+ title?
« on: March 08, 2005, 03:50:13 PM »
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe will be developed by Griptonite Games who will handle the Gameboy Advance and DS versions. Hmmm, what were the other games Griptonite Games made? The Urbz and Robots... see a trend? This is bad. All other versions will be developed by Travler's Tales, including the PSP version.

You know what I just thought of.  Do you think the games made like this now will be made for the inferior PSP and then ported to the home consoles.  I mean they do it with the PS2 to save money since it is now the inferior system, so do you think it would be done even with the PSP.

It's made for all 6 platforms. Those quick cash grabs don't qualify as real games. When they cover too many platforms you can bet someone's getting greedy and I doubt they'd spend more than the minimum required to make the game, i.e. no polish.

Most games are developed for the Playstation 2 hardware first because it is actually the hardest to program for. Also it is easier to make ok graphics look better then taking a game that is better looking and dumbing it down to make it run smooth. So, no. The PSP hardware though I believe is actually easier to develop for than the PS2.

That's not because it's the hardest to program for but5 simply because it is the weakest. What runs on the PS2 will run even better on the other consoles.

No, it is the hardest... Sony even acknowledged it and said that the PS3 will be much easier on developers.

bingbangboom: Yes, it is the hardest but what I was saying is that is not the reason games are developed for the PS2 first.

Oh yeah, i know... but they would rather make sure a game runs smoothly on a PS2 build then the other way around because it has the larger base.
