Pale: Insider information?

I find it funny that Pokemon is named XD which expresses extreme happiness while Windows is named XP which... Well, obvious enough.

Though I highly doubt it, is this keynote gonna be webcasted anywhere?  God that would be sweet.

I totally agree, imagine the money they are investing on the online affair being put to some other good use, specially R&D. But no, it seems the gaming world is ruled by the minority that is the online gamers and dictates the things we, the people who find online boring, have to play in the future, urgh...

At least I know that Nintendo will try to make online better.

"There's a key part of the message, and this is my language, not Mr. Iawata's language, is that Nintendo needs to be an 'And' company"

That's cool and I agree completely with it but I don't like the "not Mr. Iwata's language" part.  If Iwata doesn't feel that way then does it matter what Reggie thinks?  If NCL has a different attitude NOA can't really do much.  If the Rev for example is designed like a third party repelent by NCL it doesn't matter what NOA thinks and what they want to do.  I see eye to eye with Reggie on a lot and I hope he's not just saying what he thinks but has no control over.

I think he's syaing that is his vision, and not necessarily NCL's. He's pointing out that it wasn't some sort of official mission statement.

Or maybe he's saying that he is taking what Iwata said and translating it into his own words (Iwata's last comments were supposedly mis-translated and sounded kinda pessimistic).  I think he's just putting it in a way that we will understand better, a way that comes across clearer than what Iwata may have originally said.

1UP: Do you think there's a ceiling on how far you can take the current Nintendo franchises? For example, a new Kirby might not be just what Joe Stock Exchange is looking forward to coming home and playing after a hard day's work, or even for teens weaned on GTA. Not that Nintendo needs to come up with violent new properties. It's obviously important that they still exist, but it's entirely possible that there's only so much mileage that you can get out of bright yellow, bright pink characters in your mission to beat the competition.

RFA: I'll tell ya this, when we launch Revolution, we will have greata franchise game: Mario, Zelda, Metroid. We will also launch new franchises. Because what you're saying is true. I think any consumer is looking for something new, and for great as Mario is, when it's the hundredth Mario game, it could be perceived as old. Even if it's highly innovative, and so yes, we're hard at work on new franchises and things that will excite the current gamer.

It's funny.  Iwata says something and people are usually negative about it, to the effect of saying they "cringe" or whatever histrionic response.  Reginald here says something and everybody agrees and worships him.  The punchline here is there is not one thing Satoru Iwata has said that Reignald Fils-Aime hasn't repeated.  The problem with was Iwata "says" is that we always hear it third-hand, translated, re-translated, and always ripped out of context.  Notice he said language and not words or ideas.  The two are quite different.
