F-Zero problems: game stops playing!!
« on: October 23, 2004, 06:10:18 PM »
I just got F-Zero and I can't play it!  Regardless of what mode I'm playing, the game randomly just stops and dumps to the start screen.  Just like I hit the reset button.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Anyone know what is going on??

Weird. Can't say I've ever heard of this problem.
Easy solution. Just bring it back to the store you bought it from and exchange it for another copy.

On an x86 I'd say your RAM is overheating or dead butI'm not sure how the GC reacts to that.

Make sure nothing is blocking the fans either side of your cube, if it's not overheating through your own fault, best call Nintendo.

I shoulda mentioned, none of my other games are acting up.  I did check the fans and placement of my cube, everything seems to be in order.  I tried F-Zero again today and I couldn't play any more than one to two minutes before the same odd behavior occurs.  I switched to another game and played flawlessly for hours.

I'm returning the game and will hopefully get a better copy!

Well I got a brand new copy of F-Zero and had the same problems.  Tried the same disc on a friend's Cube and it worked just fine.  Finally narrowed it down to my memory card in slot A.  It is a third party card.  I bought a larger Nintendo-made card.  The game now works great!

Moral of the story:  Stay with Nintendo brand memory cards!!!!
