THE DOORS...  

their music is great, erry, I was obsessed with them
in highschool & Jim Morrison.  Their best music is the
stuff that never gets played.  If you want something
unlike anything else pick up An American Prayer album.

It's Jim Morrison recorded poetry around the year he died, and the
remaining members put music to it 8 years later.
