I doubt the date unless they're insane, but the triple-processors were revealed (or leaked) much earlier.

The date was what they originally had planned, and it is quite obvious now that those plans have changed.
They stated at GDC that it was too soon to talk about the next generation hardware or software.

as for the 3 processors, I know they have been talked about b4 but I didn't expect 3 3.5ghz PPC (G5) chips
especially since I don't even think apple has G5's at 3.5 ghz yet.  How would they be able to put 3 of those in their machinr next year and keep the price affordable?

BTW, some people interpret those specs as one triple-core CPU, not hree CPUs (be they single or dual core).

They ran an article on GamesIndustry.biz that says the Xbox2 architecture document is most likely fake or just really outdated.
Quote

A diagram purporting to be a leaked Microsoft document describing the specification of the Xbox 2 has surfaced on a Chinese bulletin board - but sources close to the console's development say that it is probably a fake.

how is the source close to console developement gonna say 'probably'?  Shouldn't they know if those are the specs or not? Or is the source as close to console developement as I am to marrying Halle Berry?
