GTA for Cube in future?....... quote inside.

It is an interview w/ Take Two CEO Jeff Lapin. Well it doesn't really answer but the door is slightly open.

>>Mr. Lapin: Right now we have no plans to bring the series to the GameCube or GameBoy Advance, but that doesn't mean we won't in the future. There's still a period of exclusivity for the next installment on the PlayStation 2, but we can't get into detail on that. However, once that period is over we will be able to release the next installment on other platforms - if its financially prudent. <<

Lapin does say the Xbox version of GTA3/ GTA3 VC will be enhanced and not a straight port.

So what, we can expect a lazy, half assed GTAIII port sometime late next year or something?
Then it'll sell like rubbish, and Take Two will go "ALL NINTENDO'S FAULT, STUFF NINTENDO! THEY SUCK"

Reading that article, it sounds like GTA "might" be on N5 not the Gamecube, and only when the Exclusivity with Sony ends... IE too long in the future...

Is it me or is anyone else board to death with GTA?  I really liked GTA:VC, but truthfully, the series is wearing thin on me.  In a strange way, the game almost seems childish.  I walked in on my 14 nephew and his friends, while they were doing the infamous "hooker trick."   They were laughing like school girls.  A few days later, they grew tired of the game, and never bothered to complete it.

EGM did an interview with Henry Hill, the infamous gangster featured in the movie "Goodfellas."
They gave him three games to play.  One was GTA:VC, the second was the horrible "The Getaway" and the last was Animal Crossing.  Now I guess EGM was expecting this drug dealing murderer to endorse GTA, but instead he chose ANIMAL PLANET!  I nearly laughed my butt off!  What was really funny was that he quickly became bored with GTA and he HATED "the getaway," yet he wanted the EGM staff to GIVE him the copy of Animal Crossing he was playiing, lol!

I tried Simpsons Hit and Run at this years E3.  It's hardly "Simpsons GTA" as some would call it.

Mario and I were just playing 'MTA' its a fun alternative to doing missions etc, i bagged GTA 3 for a long time after having a sour expiriance on the PS2, namely friends of my friends brother were basically just driving around killing people then cheating to make the cops go away.. i was like '.... this is what the game is about?... meh..' but now i have Vice City, doing the missions and such is great, im off to play it for a bit now so yes, bring on GTA on the cube/n5, not that i would get it any multi system stuff i can i get on the PC

They didn't even bother to animate the character getting in and out of the vehicles.  Instead they used whats called an "iris wipe."  What a cheap trick from lazy developers.

Now I'm not saying this game sucks, in fact I probably give it a rent, but it's not great.  Think Simpsons Road Rage.  It's closer to that game than it is to GTA.

I have road rage as well, but only when I'm driving, lol! Seriously, I do own Simpsons:RR.  It's an OK game, good but not great.  NOt by a long shot....

Eh.  Don't care.  Just about everyone here has a PC anyway, I'm assuming... just get GTA III/Vice City there.  I saw GTAIII for the PC once for $10.  Still, I suppose it might run smoother on a GC if your computer is not especially powerful.

GTA is not that demanding. If it doesn't run smooth on your comp you should seriously consider upgrading.

i always thought that VC was basically jsut an expansion (or would have been had it been PC) to GTA, ive played them both and finished them and its just like a standalone addon would be, some tweaks few changes and new missions

Simpsons Hit and run is nothing like GTA. The only similarity is you can take cars and they keep saying the same things.

yes and no.  it's a completely new game and the elements they added, such as being able to ride motorcycles and the broader range of weapons, make it a completely new experience.  I liken it to Tony Hawk 2, which really only added the manual and the balance meter to what you could do in the original game.  minor changes, yes, but highly gratifying and involving changes, they are.

that being said, after i bought the controller i picked up for my PC this weekend, Ill just buy Vice City for my computer and skip on the console ports, completely.  These games never truly get old, if you actually play the missions.

....why is the dead being dug up here?? let it rest please. Anyways, i am pretty sure they are still releasing a GTA on GBA. it would be kinda cool if they fit GTA1 and GTA2 on a single cartridge and released it!

I like Vice City a lot more because GTA III was just the original GTA in 3D
