Ghosting in GBA SP?
« on: October 28, 2003, 02:39:30 AM »
When I chose GBA SP, I found ghosting over the text(especially when light is on). So I didn't pay for it.
Do you have ghosting in your GBA SP?

Not a problem with mine...But ghosting is a problem found in all forms of portable entertainment, so you just have to deal with it, or not use portables at all...I think Ninty is setting out to fix the problem for the next generation of Game Boys, so you shouldn't have to worry about it in the future...

well i have never noticed it, and i play my SP quite alot and have numerous games, i think it only happens when its white text on black background, get your ass back to EB and get an SP, its well worth it ;p

actually, i noticed quite a bit of ghosting on my sp when reading the text in metroid fusion.  none during gameplay though.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Even when looking for ghosting I couldn't find it.  True story.

Of course, being blind doesn't help.  *shrugs shoulders*

Might temperature effect ghosting? Like the colder it is the worst the problem. I don't know just wondering.

I think the amount of ghosting you'll see has everything to do with the way the AR film was installed while in the factory.   Good installs shouldn't have ghosting while slightly off installs will as well as other negative effects.

Look what I found.
Game Boy Percautions Booklet
"The LCD may become slower or may not work when the temperature is low."
I know this probably isn't the reason why your GBA is ghosting but the important thing to remember is that I was right.

Ghosting on LCD sometimes happens when the LCD Brightness too high or too Low when animations showed quicker than LCD respons.
It also happens when LCD pixels show same colors (especially White) for a long time. it will mark on u'r LCD.
but i don't know if it happens on GBA LCD too.
Help Me Please.
