N5 Backwords Compatiblility Confirmed!!!!!
« on: December 24, 2003, 01:47:27 AM »
I'm not sure if this was already officially confirmed... I think it wasn't but anyway...Heres a quote from Famistu:

Famitsu: What can you tell us about the Gamecube 2?

Iwata: It will be able to use the gamers already created in the previous generation. And it is something that will work. Side performances and graphics, one reached today a kind of limit with a quality which is already close to realism and it will be difficult to still much better do. The role of Nintendo is thus to study other ways in order to improve the experience of the player.

Very Very Sweet Discuss
Video Games-
Why waste good technology on medicine and science?

Now Playing: Zelda: TP (GC)
Mario Kart (DS)
NSMB (DS)

And it is something that will work.

No WAY?

If Iwata really did say that, and this news is indeed true then yay, backwards compatibility would be awesome. N5 will have a stronger launch with the entire GC library backing it up. Plus it means GC games will keep being developed maybe even after N5 is released.

Anybody else thinking of matrix-style gamer-powered machines?
