a game slot in the e-reader
« on: December 03, 2003, 10:06:51 AM »
i was just thinking, how using an e-reader would be much less of a pain. i don't have one, but my friend does and ya. well my point is, they shouldve put a game slot inside the e-reader. instead of making you have to get an extra gba, and connect it to yours and use the e-reader special stuff in super mario bros. 3 for example, u could just put it into the e-reader. nintendo shouldve thought of this in the first place. the jerks... hehe jk nintendo.

Well that would then conflict with the dot code reader.

That would be a GameBoy then.

If you don't like the E-reader, don't worry about it.  It's actually a pretty ingenious machine.

No, that would allow you to take advantage of the ereader features in Pokemon and SMB3 without having to have a second gameboy...like he said.  It is a very good point and seems like nintendo didn't think about it at the time or something...

Wow, I feel pretty stupid.  I just re-read the post and realized my mistake.  My apologies.

Or else they wanted you to buy a second GBA

I only ever play SMB3 in my GBP anyways, and let my GBA host the reader.

Well, the first eReader in Japan didn't have the pass through port even, so it's pretty clear they came up with some of these ideas later on.

Surprisingly for a Nintendo product it seems like it was pretty rushed. Of course considering Nintendo pretty much owns the mobile gaming market they probably don't care as much either. Even the original GBA screen didn't have a light and the SP doesn't have a head phone jack.

Nintendo: What are you going to do about? Buy an N-Gage? *evil laugter*
