How far are you in F-Zero?
« on: October 18, 2003, 08:39:02 AM »
I was just wondering how far everyone is.

So far, I've unlocked master level and diamond cup, beaten all chapters on easy (some on hard).

A question to anyone. What is the best combination for the perfect vehicle? I'm combined all A's to give me A in body, boost, and grip, but the turning is horrible. What should I do? And is unlocking the AX cup hard? Has anyone beat the cups on master level?

Another thing, what's a better attack, Z-spin or X-attack

I'm up to Chapter 7 in Story Mode, but can't beat it, I've beaten all 4 cups on Easy, Medium, and Hard, and I've beaten the Ruby Cup on Master (I tied for first in the Sapphire Cup on Master, so it didn't count ).

1.  Not very far.  Level 3 in story mode is giving me a hard time.  Haven't beat all of the cups, even on easy.  But i've only had it since end of September.
2. I have no clue.  I just keep a well rounded vehicle at a relatively low weight to make the turning better.
3.  I prefer the X attack because the Z one slows me down too much.

I beat story mode on easy and half of them on hard...got diamond cup but not master yet.  Unlocked all the ships but not near all the parts....Then I got Soul Calibur. =P

Wow, so I'm actually a head of most of the guys here, and I bought the game in mid-sept.

But my main goal is to get the AX-Cup now, so I can have all the levels.

A mouse_clicker, the best strategy to use in the Grand-Prix level is this: Stick around the middle area for the first two laps. when the third lap starts, boost away until you get near the first player, stock up on power, and just boost from the beginning of the striaghtaway (the one without rails) until the end of the map.

I just now beat Chapter 5 on very hard, that took me at least 150 tries. In story mode, I'm stuck on Chapter 7, and in Grand Prix I unlocked Diamond Cup (which is insane) and beat in on Novice. I usually use my custom machine, D-B-C, which weighs about 1200 kg. And the reason your A-A-A car is horrible at turning is because it's probably extremely heavy - the better the parts you use, the heavier your craft will be. The general rule for attacking is use X for single cars and Z for multiple cars.

I'm on chapter nine is story mode, beat the first two cups on all except master (don't have yet) and the third on Novice. . . I need to play it more.  I tried expert on the third, but it annoyed me too much.  I got first on the first area, after dying several times, then screamed, cussed, rolled onto the floor and turned of my Cube after losing twice on the second level.  I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I tend to not allow below 1st or second.

I don't play enough either. :\

I need to start feeling the pain.  I need to go on rampages destroying the house because after 300 tries I can't beat a chapter in story mode.   I need to break a wavebird.   I need to go really fast on my bike pretending to be like Captain Falcon and purposely jumping off and letting my bike hit a tree.  I need to swear in front of teachers; "I CAN'T F***ING BEAT CHAPTER 9 ON VERY HARD IN F-ZERO, DAMNIT!".  I need to total our car by throwing my GC at it (THAT's how durable Nintendo products are ).  I need to FEEL THE BURNINATION!

I'm just about done with the game, I'll continue playing it, but those 2 AX VEHICLES (note: story on very hard, haven't beat 7/9) I'm missing are just too much of a pain to unlock

Everything outside of story is a breeze to me, doesn't matter though, because its So fun, even after I so (quickly) mastered it, (I believe its because I could beat master on X or MV without much problem that it quickly became the same for this one)

Most FAQs consider this to be one of the best custom machines:

Frost Lynx G4. Use the Aqua Goose body, Super Lynx cockpit, and Titan G4 booster. I stopped using this machine because it felt like cheating, but it sounds like most of you are gonna need it.

A little bit of advice for Diamond Cup Master; try knocking as many racers off course in the first race as possible. Since there are virtually no walls, it should be very easy, even with a light machine. If at all possible, try and make sure you take out Black Shadow's machine, and Gomar & Shioh's too. They almost always end up finishing in the top ranks, so getting them out of the way REALLY helps. One time, I managed to knock out TEN machines in the first race on Diamond Master. At the end of the second to last race, I was exactly 100 points ahead. All I had to do was finish the next race, and I won. Now that's my kind of victory.

Yeah, I'll tyr the Frost Lynx G4 body, see how that works. Let's see if I have the parts too.

Expert on sapphire is a real annoyance, but after playing it aobut 20 times, I pretty much mastered all the levels except Green Plant and the Last one (Big Blue?)...all with the Green Phantom, no custom built, it was a toughy.

I've gotten through all chapters on hard and about 4 on very hard, and I need to beat the last two cups on Master (pain in the arse). I've been racing in the time attack mode most of the time, though. I'm getting some pretty good times, but nothing like the times the cheaters on the www.f-zero.jp championship are getting. 39 seconds on the first Mute City track with Blue Falcon on the Max Speed setting? Heh, yeah right!

Those guys are probably using the snaking technique, which is good, but works well only on wide tracks.

IT's hard to explain, knowsnothing. Just go to IGN or something and read about it.

Well, I used the snaking technique almost perfectly on the first course and got 47 seconds. You can't use the snake technique with max speed, so the people are obviously cheating. It's too bad.

You accomplish the snake technique by turning left while pressing the left shoulder button, and right while pressing the right shoulder button. Do this over and over on a wide track.  Remember to set the car on max acceleration setting. Some cars can't do the snake technique.

Get this!

Beaten all 5 cups on all difficulties, beat story mode in all difficulties (all 9 chapters) and unlocked every possible thing you can.  I also beat master in every 30 machine (non customed) and unlocked their movies.  It can't get any better than that!  Hehe.

No wonder I call myself the F-zero master!

I don't know if Swordsplay is joking or not, but if you did, nice job.

I my self recently unlocked AX-Cup, man it was annoying beating everything on master cup. Only thing left to conquer is the chapter modes on all difficulties.
