Hidden room in mansion (Resident Evil)
« on: October 21, 2003, 06:04:17 AM »
Hi, there is a room in the mansion you learn about when you return with the helmet key.  IT mentions the entrance to the room behind some mansion painting. WHen i go to the painting, nothing happens, but I can see the room on my map!  So it is there.  Anyone know how to get into this room?  Its on the first floor, adjacent to the art gallery room that has the white stature of a lady drawing water. Thanks

You can't get in until you beat the game...Once you start a second game on the same file, you'll find something you need to get in there in your item box

Speaking of the woman drawing water....what the heck are you supposed to do with her? Jill can't push her over and there is something shiny in her urn. Why does she not pour out her libations to me?!

See the box in the room?  Get on the other side of it and push it next to the statue...Climb up on the box and take the shiny thing, which turns out to be a map...

Ok um.... how exactly do I go about getting on the other side of that box. I tried and there's a wall in the way. Is it possible to pull? That would help somewhat. Oh yeah and I've found 3 of the death masks and used 10 ink ribbons. Am I gonna run out? I'm so anxious about using my last one and never finding another. That would not be fun.

You should be fine on ink ribbons...Once you get the last death mask you will soon find another key, which leads to a new area...

What you do is climb on top of the box by pressing up and A...You will climb on top of the box...press up and A again to get down on the other side so you can push it away...  (watch out, a zombie appears if you grab the defense knife back there)

AHHH! Resident Bliss. Thanks again Bill. You have once again proved your superiority in the realm of spacial thinking. I am humbled.

As for me getting the last death mask, I don't know that I WANT to. That coffin is getting a *LITTLE* too close to the ground for MY liking....

Hahaha!  Trust me, if I had the choice of not opening that coffin, I wouldn't...

You wouldn't NOT open it meaning you WOULD? You are a brave soul. I get scared very easily and for some reason I like being scared. My Wavebird wasn't working (see tech discussion) so I used my regular controller which I hadn't ever done for RE. Well, when I was pushing the above mentioned buffet thing, the controller rumbled. Dear Lord, WHY did it have to rumble. Lemme just say this, I need a new couch now.
