Don't know about anyone else but I felt sick to my stomach when Rare gave up  making games for Nintendo, then goin into a shop and a cashier telling me that no more cubes were being made and that in his opinion they weren't much cop anyway!

Can someone 'console' me please!

Errrr...One person's opinion, especially one of someone who most likely isn't a hardcore gamer, is nothing to get upset about.  The Rare thing has been gone and past, and even a huge Rare fan such as myself has healed.  Just take a deep breath and think about all the great games coming out

They stopped production because warehouses were filling up with unsold Cubes. That changed, though, when Nintendo dropped the price to $99. Cube sales quadrupled in both the UK and US and in America the Gamecube is outselling the PS2 by 20% and the Xbox by 145%.

I know time's supposed to be a healer, but when you get comments like that from nobodies it brings it all flooding back; I'm going back today to pepper him with headbutts.

RARE SPLIT FROM NINTENDO?! WHEN?!?! It's really not that big a loss. We've still got Star Fox and DK. We also have BK for GBA and I think a few others. But, PD looks just weird now. They weren't making money for Nintendo then and they have yet to do a single thing for M$. Way to go, Billy! Rare is making more money off Nintendo right now than they are the company that owns them.

Another added benefit of stopping production is that you get to let component prices drop a bit. I'm sure Nintendo made a lot of Cubes because its cheaper to manufacture larger quantities. On top of that, labor costs are being deffered until this spring when production begins again. There are many added benefits that don't seem apparent. This may in fact be why Nintendo made the press announcement to begin with. Smart investors read between the lines.

I am looking forward to Conker's Bad Fur Day online, and their MMOG should be fun. It's this latter game why Rare wanted to move on. Besides, Nintendo got Zoonami, and its the people that make games, not franchises.
