Castlevania 24 on N5?
« on: August 14, 2003, 06:16:30 PM »
Current CV series producer Koji Igarashi (the MAN) recently said (I´m obviously paraphrasing here, folks; I can´t give you a link but it´s NOT something I made up) that he´ll produce another action game along the lines of the upcoming Lament of Innocence (think of the old TMNT arcade/NES games having full frontal intercourse with Devil May Cry and you´ll get a rough notion as to how this baby will probably play) to get a grasp of 3D gaming mechanics.

By then (and this is pure speculation) its safe to assure that the next generation of gaming consoles will be at its budding stage. Nintendo will want to secure as much good games for its new console as possible, and its a safe bet that an Igarashi 3D Castlevania will be a "good" if not "drop your pants and worship your new deity" game. And, Nintendo has traditionally been THE Castlevania console (doesn´t anyone find ironic the fact that what´s widely regarded to be the best game in the series , Nocturne in the Moonlight,  is available on all the consoles of the generation, except for the Nintendo one?) so a glorious return of Castlevania to Nintendo home consoles  is a tantalizing and not too far-fetched, possibility. After all, the new CV games are just what the doctor ordered for Nintendo, with Kojima´s hip (if not a tad too effeminate) art direction and deep gameplay. Hell, they could even make a 2D Dracula X (Metroid-style) MMORPG to jump start what could possibly be Nintendo´s online plans (the new Castlevanias have the most entertaining battle systems of any action/RPG)! Speak!
If it smells like sh*t and it looks like sh*t, it probably IS sh*t (the latest statement in aesthetic logic)!

One thing I absolutely hated from Konami was before Gamecube was even released, Koanmi said that Silent Hill will never appear on it cause it was too violent and it might scare away their core fanbase.
What the hell stupid comment is that??
Nintendo had better get more mature games than cutesey ones, cause I am getting real pissed at developers like Konami. Nintendo can keep making their FAMILY ORIENTED games, cause I still love em.

Lets wait to see how Metal Gear Solid the Twin Snakes sells before thinking about Castlevania on a Nintendo console... Konami has been one of the third parties that has suported Nintendo the least on the console side.... while still making $$$ on the GBA

Yeah which was funny considering they made a Silent Hill game for GBA at Japanese launch.

personally the only games i am looking foward to on the ps2 this year are castlevania and star ocean 3
i love what IGA has brought to the castlevania series- his ideas have brought fresh ideas to an old running series
and since his game is the only other one i look forward to on the ps2 this year, it better be good...
but i dont have any doubts in IGA- this game will rock- and most of the magazine previews that have had hands on with the game say it is really fun to play- hopefully if konami's gc game sells well- then we may see some better support soon
i call the big one bitey.

If MGS: TTS sells well, I think Konami might be convinced to change their mind...

If MSG:TTS sells well, it would´nt  be an abnormality to see Konami warm up to the idea of a next-gen Castlevania on a Nintendo home console (or the release of a "special edition" of Lament of Innocence on GCN). Then again,  good GCN games are notorious for being outsold by crappy Xbox games featuring scantily clad women, so, don´t bet on it...
