More details were announced regarding the upcoming Wii U shooter Splatoon, including a release date.

Coming this May, Splatoon's central hub was also detailed in today's Direct. Interactions with Miiverse were shown, as well as a shopping center where one can customize outfits for their character. Each piece of these outfits will also affect the player's stats. Entering towers around the hub will enable online multiplayer sessions. Characters will also be able to store up to three weapons: their main weapon, a sub weapon, and a special weapon.
