Barrel rolling for joy.

A new Star Fox game has been revealed to be in development for the Wii U.

In an interview with Time Magazine, which was quickly pulled, Miyamoto talked about the latest entry in the Star Fox series. While story details weren't mentioned, he did go a little in-depth with how the game controls. Players will be able to aim by using the GamePad's motion controls, while moving the ship with the analog sticks, as well as pulling off special manuevers such as the infamous barrel roll. You will also be able to transform into a Landmaster tank for ground battles

We have yet to learn any other details, so we will be updating this story once more information comes out, which will likely be during today's Digital Event.

Awesome...and disappointing. I'm logging off this site until AFTER the Nintendo Digital Event is over. That may be the only surprise and now I just looked at my presents before Christmas.

At least you can take refuge in the idea that you weren't going to get to play with it till next Christmas no matter what.

Not so fast, Star Fox...

Nice to hear, I am not a big fan of the series (though I liked the N64 entry) and do know it's one of Nintendo's B-level franchises, but maybe now Star Fox fans will stop whining LOL. And love to have more Wii U games

All you seen of it in the even is a blurry screen. So the time leak didn't do much. There was a lot more then expected titles announced.

As long as Krystal isn't in it, I am vastly interested. If Krystal is in it, God help us.

Good news for fans, I still haven't played one of these games though. I should probably get on that. Sometime.

With Miyamoto at the helm I am hoping this is a true return to form for the game.

Really? Well, I'm still lacking in my Star Fox knowledge myself. I've played the SNES version breifly but hardly made much headway in it only getting to a 2nd or 3rd planet.

The 64 version I've played a lot of. I've beat it before but I've never gotten to every planet yet so still have some work to do to finish it. I just recently picked up a good condition used copy for the 3DS so I'll have to try it out soon and see what that version is like. It's worth a playthrough.

Star Fox Adventures is a game I keep meaning to play and try. I've only gone through the opening one time though to the point where Fox finally lands on the planet but have never gotten around to continuing on the adventure. Of all the Star Fox games, this is the one I want to play the most right now just to see what it is all about and what it is really like.

Star Fox Assault I played through and beat but never finished going back and getting the gold/ace/top medals for each mission/level. Yeah, the on foot stuff wasn't the greatest but I still liked the game and the music. It had a good pace to it.

Star Fox Command I have fully beat and unlocked everything. So far, it's the only Star Fox game in which I've done so. Yet, it isn't the greatest. The problem is that everything in the game wears out its welcome after awhile and it all becomes repetative. The strategy maps get boring, hunting down missles is pretty much the same, the flying zones are all pretty similiar. The bosses provide some variety but even a few of them repeat. Controlling flight with the touch screen takes a little getting used to but after awhile I adapted and didn't mind it. It was one of those experiments in control being done back in the early days of the DS and I always thought there was more possibility there. It might be a good game if you just want to fly through a few missions and not worry about completing it all.

If I had to rank them:

Star Fox 64
Star Fox Assault
Star Fox Command
Star Fox SNES

And I don't know enough about SFA to rank it yet.
