Let your friends hear the tremble in your voice as you battle Jaggi after Jaggi.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the Wii U will release alongside a day-one patch that allows for both USB keyboard and voice chat support.

Due to launch March 19 in North America (March 22 in Europe), Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the Wii U allows for online hunts with up to three other players. In Japan, the title does not support USB keyboard or voice chat, and it's unconfirmed whether this update will be released there. All regions support an on-screen keyboard presented on the Wii U's GamePad. Online play is not available in the 3DS version of the game.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is an action-RPG that places players in a world inhabited by fearsome beasts. Players are afforded a wide variety of weapons that play to the user's skillset. Whether you prefer long-range or up close and personal combat, there's a weapon for your needs. Taking down these titular monsters can be difficult, which encourages players to hunt in groups. Once defeated, the beast's corpses can be looted for various pieces that can be used to build better gear and weapons.

A demo for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be made available on February 21 on both the 3DS and Wii U eShop.

Is that our boxart? If so then awesome! Personally rather have Azure Rathalos on the box than Brachydios.

EASYCURE: I remember thinking(don't ask me why) this was a blond haired, blue eyed, chiseled athlete. Like he looked like Seigfried before he became Nightmare.

Why does it need a patch for that? The Wii game already had those functions, so it's not like it was a great idea they suddenly got at the last minute. The ability to patch games has made developers lazier.

Stop with the bitching. The only people that are gonna need it are people that go online. It's not like people without internet access will need it.

Rude. That's not the point. We shouldn't have to patch every game on day one.

Yeah, that boxart is pretty fantastic.

I'm on the fence on buying this. I barely played the original on Wii (lack of free time) and Monster Hunter 4 is coming out later this year. Then, there's Phantasy Star Online 2...

I can't wait and am happy that both the 3DS and WiiU versions are coming out simultaneously, though I'm getting the 3DS version first to build my character offline before taking the plunge online.

Monster Hunter 4 will be at least 6 months from the Japanese launch in making the jump.

I also wonder why this functionality has to be a Day 1 patch. Obviously they intended on this feature being in the NA version of the game, so why not just put it on the disc & be done with it? These are pretty major additions to the game. You can't just add them at the last minute. What, was frickin' voice chat & keyboard support just too hard to add during the normal localization process before they submitted to Nintendo Cert?
There was a Signature here. It's gone now.

That's probably the answer.  More than likely localization doesn't require any real code changes so, it was probably easier to Cert and get to being pressed.  Let the patched version go through the long part in the hope of having it day one.
