MGS 2:SOL compatible with MGS 2:S

Just curious if the save game files for "Sons of Liberty" for PS2 work with the "Substance" PS2 game.  I'm interested in picking "Substance" up cause Raiden bugs and I wanna get some Solid Snake stuff in before the "Twin Snakes" GCN game comes out.  I'm about a 1/4 through SOL, taking me so long because I get disgusted after every save and have to hear the inane conversations Raiden has with his girl, and I would hate to start over!   Anyone know?

I don't know for sure, but I'd doubt it.  Different games etc.  They may seem similar, but I'm sure the coding and stuff is different enough.  Besides, a game save on a console has an identifier so the system knows which game it belongs to.  As they didn't know they'd release Substance after SOL, you're SOL.

Yeah, there's no way it'll work.
You'll just have to put up with the endless chitter chatter on the codec all over again. =)

If you live in Europe, I'd recommend Substance for it's bonus DVD alone. Stunning stuff.

Just get the PC version and download some save files.

Personally though, I still hate the game.  I really wouldn't mind playing that tanker level again though... Konami should make a demo for people who don't want to be arsed with that Raiden queer.

Actually, my guess is that since the DVD is double sided, and one side has Substance and the other side just SOL, then yes, savegames will work with it.

Why don't you rent Substance?  That would determine for sure whether or not the save will work.

It doesn't work, I had a few saves left over from when I rented SOL, but when I bought Substance, they did not show up in the load screen.

Yeah I need to get out and rent it.  I may have to just get the Twin Snakes for my Snake fix.  Man I thought either everyone was over exagerating or just joking about Raiden...!!!

lol.  Nope.  He's as bad as we say, and worse.

When I first played the game, I thought I would give him a chance, as I had heard so much bad about him.  After the 500th little interlude with his girlfriend though, I just didn't care anymore.  I wanted him dead.

I just hope that by now Konami has figured out that fans of Metal Gear never want to see Raiden again.
