Rhythm Heaven Wii is for One to Two Players

An animation on the official websites demonstrates the button-press gaming.

The upcoming Wii version of Rhythm Heaven is a one to two-player game.

An animation on Nintendo's recently updated Japanese website shows a game that is played just by pressing the "A" button in time with the beat, much like the Game Boy Advance iteration of the game. The two-player mode is not shown.

The game will have support for four save files. It will be released in Japan on 21 July, and will be on sale for 5,800 yen ($72). Read our impressions of the game from E3 2011.

If a game is playable at E3, that means it'll be released in the West... right? Right? Please, Rhythm Heaven. I must play you.

Yeah, it should be coming here.
While probably not likely, I hope they either have a two-Remote option, or the two-player mode is cooperative so that one person could play both parts. The original GBA game used the D-pad and A & B, but the Wii Remote kind of limits that, since it's not played in NES configuration.

If memory serves the GBA games were only released in Japan. There was a DS game released in the states.

Game, singular. But yes, the game was a GBA title that came out late in the system's life. There was a sequel for the DS (although it used some of the same challenges).

No, it didn't. The DS used a touch-based scheme, and thus was completely different. There's a Japanese arcade version that appears to reuse some though.
