Scott Moffitt to Drive Continued Growth for Nintendo Hardware and Software Brands

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/pr/26259

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Nintendo of America is pleased to announce the hiring of a new executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. Effective May 9, Scott Moffitt will assume responsibility for sales and marketing activities for Nintendo throughout North America. Moffitt will work from Nintendo’s office in Redwood City, Calif., and report to Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime.

Moffitt comes to Nintendo from Henkel Consumer Goods, where he oversaw North American operations for leading personal-care brands such as Dial, Right Guard, Tone and Pure & Natural. During his five years as senior vice president and general manager for the Personal Care division, he orchestrated an overhaul of the flagship Dial and Right Guard brands.

“Scott Moffitt makes a marvelous addition to the Nintendo team,” Fils-Aime said. “His expertise in driving growth will be a terrific asset as we build momentum for the Nintendo 3DS system and continue to reach new audiences for the Wii console.”

“Nintendo is a brand unlike any other,” Moffitt said. “I look forward to helping shape the company’s future for all kinds of players.”

Moffitt’s 20-plus years of leadership and marketing experience also include a formidable stint at PepsiCo, where he helped grow and revitalize the SoBe portfolio of brands and spearheaded the launch of Mountain Dew Code Red and AMP Energy Drink. As a marketing director and manager, he also oversaw product development and repositioning efforts for an array of top beverage brands, including Mountain Dew, Sierra Mist, Aquafina and Mug Old Fashioned Root Beer.

Moffitt holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Arizona State University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Less gloating about him and more what would I know that he is responsible for campaign wise since this is sales and marketing.

He specializes in softdrinks.

It's quite obvious that he will be directly responsible for getting us all to drink Nintendo's Kool-Aid

So is this the guy that's replacing Cammy?  If so, he has big snowboards to fill.

Was he the guy behind Crystal Pepsi? I may be in the minority, but I loved Crystal Pepsi and I also thought the ad campaign featuring Van Halen was pretty cool.

The only specialty limited Pepsi I ever liked was the Christmas Season flavor one.  That was good.

Edit:
His LinkedIn

And that's the only thing I can find that I'm sure is him.  I was hoping to see a picture since all those guys get on stage.

Crystal Pepsi was introduced in 1992 and Scott Moffitt started working at Pepsi in 1993. I wish Nintendo hired the guy who introduced Crystal Pepsi. I agree that Crystal Pepsi was one of the best drinks ever. It was clear and a cola. AMAZING! I HATE SIERRA MIST!

I used to dislike Sierra Mist until they changed to the Sierra Mist natural. That stuff is fantastic.

Did it actually taste any different than regular Pepsi? I've never had any since that was before my time, but I always thought it was just Pepsi with no colouring.

You mean the Holiday Spice Pepsi? Ugh, that stuff was nasty, it was like drinking carbonated nutmeg.

It was like the Virtual Boy of colas. I only remember that I liked it, but I was only like about 10 at the time so I can't really remember how it was. Its possible you can find unopened cans of it on ebay or something, but after all these years its probably no longer drinkable.
