June 6, 2006 wasn't all that popular.

I'm pretty sure there was a horror movie released on that day but I see your point.

oh good, I'll just go ahead a forward that back to the friend that sent me that "interesting fact" in the first place.

This is why I love the website Snopes, they actually talking about this a few months ago. Myths like this are often spread by people (like your friend) forwarding "facts" to their friends. It's true that something like this is rare, but not that rare. It happens anytime a month with 31 days (January, March, May, July, August, October, December) begins on a Friday. It happens twice this year, once next year (July), 0 in 2012, once in 2013 (March), etc.
