Jam with the Band Online Service Restored
« on: July 27, 2010, 11:58:01 PM »

Players of Nintendo's rhythm title can once again download new songs.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/23776

Starting around July 7, players began to experience problems with Jam with the Band's Song Download feature.  When working properly, this mode allows game owners to download up to 50 user-created renditions of licensed songs over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.  The problems were finally resolved on July 26.

During the outage, attempts to download any songs listed beyond the first couple of pages would result in a screen reporting Error Code 31105, and users would subsequently be disconnected from Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.  Searches for this error code on Nintendo's online support website yielded no results.  Nintendo World Report repeatedly contacted Nintendo of Europe's technical support regarding the problem, but no response was ever received.

Earlier in the outage, Error 31105 would also appear when trying to load songs through the Radio mode's Download Top 10, which features the top 10 songs for the week as rated by users.  The Top 10 was artificially skewed since users could only download and rate a few of the 300+ normally-available songs.

... and I finally get a response today telling me that it's working now.  A three week outage with no reply is pretty terrible.

So this means that if I import Jam with the Band to America I'll be able to download new songs?
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Yes.  Karlie is willing to buy and ship the games for you all.  She says that you should PM her with your address, and she'll send you her Paypal address.  It will be $14 and take 1-2 weeks.  She would also appreciate the Club Nintendo codes from the box.  If they run out of stock, she'll go by who ordered first.

Sweet--I can't say no to it at that price.  ;D

So my copy from Karlie came in the other day and despite a high occurrence of connection errors I was able to download a couple of songs (the James Bond theme and the Ghostbusters theme).  Seeing as how you can't delete any downloaded songs I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for high quality challenging songs.  Especially any good video game music because most of the VGM in this version is the same as in the original japanese version...I can handle any difficulty level so the harder the better!  It seems the safest bet is to just download the official Nintendo and GB Music songs because the user-made ones can be hit or miss.
