One guy posting his code won't do jack, both sides have to enter it. We have a friendcode thread for it already but it doesn't look like people are posting in it.

I had Last Ninja on the C64 (the system came with a ton of copied disks when we bought it used) but having the manual makes a big difference. I still (got it back when it came out here) can't figure out what to do though, I've got everything that seems gettable and the statue tells me to get that 1up fruit but I can't find one. I've already tried hopping across the river stones once, the path just loops. Am I supposed to do anything with the swamp or is that a dead end?

That's what I meant when I said they needed to post their codes. I'm trying to encourage people to go do it since there are only three people who posted a code there including myself.
I've only successfully played with a friend once. Though I'm doing well in the random battles. I'm currently ranked #37 in 3-player matches. Would have been higher but I died with 20-seconds on the clock.

Looks like Bozon gave Onslaught a 6/10.  Considering he's got pretty low standards, I think I'm going to pass on this one.

He just didn't like it. He made a comparison to EDF which he apparently would also consider bad, most people think EDF is pure awesome.

And they also rate WiiWare games on a really low scale. It feels like most of them are dinged for just the fact they are on WiiWare. I don't use their reviews of WW to influence my buying decision.

Wiiware is one of those things that is very hard to rate, just like Xbox Live Arcade. Do you rate it based on price and what you get for it? Do you compare it to other 360 games?

I really would hate to do full fledged Wiiware reviews!

How hard is it the judge what a game offers, games shouldn't really be judged with what's out on the platform currently.

That depends on what your review is trying to say. Is it trying to say whether the game will be one of the best games ever? Is it trying to say whether the game is groundbreaking? Is it trying to say whether you should buy the game? Is it trying to say whether the game is quality?

What's wrong with just saying if a game is fun and enjoyable? It is entertainment, right? Golden Phoenix enjoys Jungle Speed, I enjoy Onslaught, and others enjoy World of Goo. Should you have an ulterior motive for writing the review or should you just relay your experience? Can you even separate the two since everyone has a bias one way or another?

Well, whatever the writer picks. Whether the readers want to hear that is something else.

That's true. Some people force a game to be good in their minds because they spend a lot of money on it. So if they read a poor review they get very defensive.
