I am just going to come out and say it. I never like Enterprise and I never will. Now that is out of the way...

I am pretty mixed on the new movie. The effects are fantastic, no denying it. Sylar on first impression could be Spock. However the change in the interiors are jarring. I wouldn't doubt Kirk as a kid was adventurous, be I don't think for a moment that he is a dumbass. Overall, it just doesn't feel right.

I will go see it, but I am expecting to hate it as much as I will love it.

Voyager was never enterprise bad. It did get good sometimes when they cranked out some multi part episodes. Kess was alright, but 7 of 9 was better. Any doctor episode was a good episode. The biggest problem they had was they didn't have any real ties between episodes. Sure we all knew they were going home and that would happen when they decided to close shop. After almost ever episode everything just resets. Even after the some epic multi parter. They also had Nelixe which has to be the closest thing Star Trek has to a Jar Jar Binks. Just not quite as bad.

DS9 has to be best overall. TNG had Picard, TOS is classic, DS9 had some real character interactions. DS9 did have some early issues from having no real starship to get around on. Sometimes the entire Bajoran religion thing got abit heavy handed. But they were small issues compared to how good the show was in general. I oh so love to hate Ki Winn.

SG-1 Had a good start, weak sauce middle and an excellent end when they started to get adventurous. Atlantis has some of the same problems. When they do get adventurous and make some off track episode, thats when it gets really good.

The biggest problem with Star Trek is they tried to be too episodic and too preachy.  Most episodes had some sort of moral or lesson they were teaching the audience, and most of those episodes hit you in the face with the point in such an horrible way it was frustrating.

Late Season Next Generation pushed away from that more and started just telling stories...so did Deep Space 9, but DS9 really got into some political intrigue and the idea of what happens on the verge of a real war breaking out.

Voyager had a silly gimmick...blending the 2 crews together to create drama was never handled well.  And 7 or 9 I hated.  Voyager started the whole have a super hot chick on board for the sole purpose of having a super hot chick in the cast.  It was so obvious 7 of 9 was ONLY there for ratings, and Enterprise carried that tradition.  Look at Next Generation or DS9, there may be attractive woman in the cast but they were treated as characters first and did not run around with their chests hanging out (except for Ms Troi who couldn't help it.)

Babylon 5 was a great series except I hated the CGi effects, but the story was fantastic.
