NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 8, 2003-- 4Kids Entertainment, Inc. and Blockbuster Inc. have joined forces for a national promotion featuring the all-new 3DO CUBIX(TM): ROBOTS FOR EVERYONE - SHOWDOWN video game based on 4Kids' original 3D-CGI animated series CUBIX(TM). Launched Friday, April 4 in participating Blockbuster stores nationwide, the six-week promotion offers Blockbuster customers who purchase the video game a free CUBIX DVD featuring the episodes "The Unfixable Robot" and "Lectrix." The game also is available for rent exclusively from participating U.S. Blockbuster stores.
Produced by The 3DO Company for the Nintendo GameCube(TM) system and the Sony PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the CUBIX: ROBOTS FOR EVERYONE - SHOWDOWN video game brings players into the world of the future to stop the evil Dr. K from destroying Bubble Town by engaging Solex-infected, out-of-control robots.
CUBIX, the first original animated television series from 4Kids Entertainment, launched its second season on Kids' WB! March 15 with 13 all-new episodes, emerging as the no. 1 ranked broadcast series in its time period among its targeted Tween (9-14) demo and earning a spot among the top eight programs in key kids demos 2-11 and 6-11; and boys 2-11 and boys 6-11.
The promotion will be supported by television spots on 4Kids Entertainment's FOX BOX, a national direct mail campaign, a dedicated Web site and in-store point of purchase displays.
