GTA 4 the car driving controls- are they supposed to be this sensitive ?

My friend told me he rented GTA 4 and overall the game is great the problem for him is driving as its way to sensitive to move them around. Is this a normal thing? Or does a patch exist to fix this?

Too SENSITIVE?  My problem with the driving is that most of the cars drive like molasses, with an emphasis on ASS...

(When you need to use the handbrake to make the average turn, something is wrong...)
