Topic: I think my copy of zelda is messed up

I had put the three stones in their places and got slung over to the tower.  When I went to gamefaqs it said that the next thing that should happen was Link would be on top of the tower and I would hit the bell with my grapple hook and I would be transported the Hyrule.  But, on my game I was in the water and my boat told me I had to enter the tower and finish the dungeon to show my courage so I am confused as to what is going on.  Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Umm...if you haven't finished the dungeon, no.  You're either reading the FAQ wrong or it's poorly written.  You shouldn't be following along with the FAQs anyways.  Oh..and see the Official Help Thread in Gameplay Help for any further questions.
