EA Playground hype thread
« on: October 24, 2007, 03:03:38 PM »
This game has been released in the US now, does anyone have it or plan on getting it? I'm getting it when it's out in Aus in about 2/3 weeks but in the mean time some impressions would be great. Despite possibly being as awesome as Wii Sports or even more awesome, this has flown under the rader. I'm very interested in whether the controls work well or not, because all the games in it have potential to be really fun. It has WALL BALL!

"Oh but it's by EA!" you say. "Nintendo didn't overlook its development!". Well guess what it could still be good. "Who cares if it's good, the characters are ugly", well that's a fair point, but one that we can hopefully ignore as we are immersed in the fun gameplay.

You sure this didn't mean to go in the funhouse?

Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

Gameplay clip

The game actually looks like it could be lots of fun as a party game.  I don't think it would have enough depth for most players as a single player game past the first few rounds of any particular mini-game.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I may get this game because I do bring my Wii over to my moms house and we have a blast playing games like MP8, Carnival, and perhaps even this game.

So you don't play Wii Sports?

The characters in WiiSports have a simple charm to them, while the demons in Playground are just GROTESQUE...

Carnival Games doesn't have dodgeball. Plus it probably has more carnies.

Decision: EA Playground

It has Hand Ball, I might buy it just for that alone.
