Wait... aren't you supposed to be able to use the Wii Controller/Nunchuk to move your arms in this game?

Four Wireless Dance Pads + Four Wii Controllers = 8 wireless devices... yet the Wii can only support 7?

Wii can only support 4 "players," so that IS a valid question... hmmm...

maybe there will be a dongle that connects to the Wiimote.
You would plug the dongle in then plug the Nunchuk in.

Also their is a chance that maybe it will just use the GameCube ports. The Wireless controller for the Dance pads could just use the WaveBird technology.

I've never played DDR, and probably never will, but it would be pretty awesome if the pads were used in conjunction with the Wiimote, as in you need to move your hands and your feet. You'd get a really good workout.

Well if the I/O controller on the Wii lets you read/poll all input sources, then the GC ports plus Bluetooth would be the cheapest solution....

Seeing as how Brawl does just that (allows simultaneous use of GC ports and Wii Remotes) that's likely the route they'll take.

If they use the GC ports for adapters, then they'll have to pack in additional wireless receivers to plug into the GC ports which will drive up costs...

I wish that they would allow USB support. I just got a new Fusion pad with the 1in insert. I don't want to buy another dance pad.

a little off topic but I wonder if nintendo will release it's own dancematt with the wiiHealth game. They could use it for simple dance aerobics that play similar to DDR but at a lower difficulty. It would also be cool if they had a little throw back to the old Track and Field game for the NES and had a game where you jog in place to make your character run the 100 never dash.

If some how you don't know what i'm talking about, you youngins should look at the warioware smooth moves microgame that has you pumping your arm to reach the goal.

My bet is they'll just turn off the nunchuck support during 4 player games...if they haven't nixed it altogether.
That's my opinion, not yours.

Oh man...I loved the Power Pad for NES. My friends and I would play the track and field game and do the long jump. It was fun to jump off the pad then jump back on before the character lands and falls and fails. You could jump ludicrous distances that way haha.

Argh. Joystiq's Impressions don't look that good.

The new arrows don't feel like worthwhile additions. After extended play, it's clear that they're simply gimmicks. In addition, the waggle functionality doesn't feel precise enough for a rhythm game.

Also, as expected,

We were also disappointed by the poor construction of the default pads, but that should come as no surprise for long-time DDR connoisseurs.

I'll be the judge of this when I get it.  Anyone hardcore stuck on the "DDR Way" isn't gonna like this game even if it brought back Boom Boom Dollar and Max period.  God knows they HATED hands and feet mode in the PS2 DDR's and wanted it gone by the next game each time, which didn't happen.  From what I've heard earlier, the response for this on Hottest Party was WAY better than the eyetoy setup on PS2.

Now I'd imagine the timing window on the remote/chuk parts are probably gonna be a little more forgiving than the foot timing.  From what I've seen so far, it appears to be that the gameplay as we see it there is the default and I can imagine turning off "arms" in this case would be a handicap option on the song selection menu.  Other than that, I think some people honestly need to be rejoicing, this is the closest thing to Para Para Paradise that a lot of people are gonna get until Konami figures out a way to get the game home.

edit.  Will and Beautiful Inside sound really good, alot better than the usual stuff.

edit again:  I just remembered something else.  Happy Feet had a few song sequences like the hands mode on here where you had to flick the remote in a certain direction according to the arrows in a similar fashion to DDR.  Of course it was a heck of a lot simpler but if the response on Hottest Party is as good as Happy Feet (and I full comboed all the Happy Feet stuff on it's hardest difficulty) or better this should work wonders, especially since here you don't seemingly have to flick it in a certain direction.
