It finally happened to me, the evil three eyed devil
« on: March 26, 2007, 05:16:24 PM »
I am sad. I had to send in my 360 for repair. And I thought I was impervious since I had a later model. I guess I was wrong.

I tried to play Crackdown, and it locked up. I tried again, and was denied. Once more, but lo I had angered the beast within. Staring intently with the center green eye while flashing his devil eyes, promising a wrath I will not forget.

And I was actually using the system for a DVD player while I gave my old DVD player to my girls to watch Dora.

So now I must sacrifice and apease the gods whilst my system dives into the volcano of Microsoft's Repair Center.

I had this happen to me recently too, My Xbox360 worked fine for over a year then around the time the Crackdown demo came out it got the ring of death too.
I didn't send my system to MS thou. They wanted me to drop $130 to send it to them so I said screw it, I rather buy a new system then drop another $130 on a gen 1 system. So with not worrying about the warranty anymore I cracked the system opened and tried some of the tips other people have said that could get rid of the ring of death. And guess what it worked! ^_^

One of the good things about the ring of death is it got me to do some case mods to my Xbox =P

At this time and point, Microsoft should have a near 0% failure rate in the newer generation models.  I think MS trying so hard to replace Sony they are just copying everything Sony did, poor system product design and all.  Bad Microsoft!
