RE4 Mem card

Do u need a memory card to save resident evil 4 cause i just picked up a gcube controler and its kinda lame casue i put RE4 in and it says i cant save...Seriosly WTF  Is this just casue im playing on the wii?

err nvm i just realised that gcube came with a mem card.
