Red Steel Ending: Spoilers Warning
« on: January 03, 2007, 02:56:35 AM »
Ok, completed Red Steel the other day.

At the last battle after you beat Tokai, he says protect me from Otori and I will give you the antidote so he can live.  Otori comes down, a battle ensues.  He had no noticable health bar, I guess he beat me, then a cutscene where he killed Tokai, then broke the Katana Geuri and collapsed and died.  Next your rescued girlfriend asks you to just leave wiith her.  The End.

My question is this, are there multiple endings, and how do you get them.  The game was going so good and then it just, just, somehow ended.  No saving Otori or Mariko, WTF?

Wow, I didn't know there were multiple endings. You have to break Otori's sword with your power moves, IIRC.

Yeah, just do that first special move they teach you.  If you do it enough times the ending changes.

Break his sword.  I thought it was pretty easy.

From what I heard on GameFAQs, if it's true, it's pretty dumb that whether you get the good or bad ending, you can't replay the last stage to see the other one.  You have to start the game over on another file to do so.  WTF.  I'm glad I got the good ending the first and only time around.  I didn't have the patience to go again, and I doubt I'll rent it again.  I guess to get 100% you have to get the best ranking (Samurai, I think) on each stage and I didn't have the patience for that.  For some reason I haven't finished a Wii game absolutely 100% yet...even in Zelda I haven't cleared Rollgoal, etc.
