XBOX 360 Dashboard Update
« on: October 31, 2006, 06:12:26 PM »
Anybody else pull this one down today? It features more organized submenus and 1080p support. On that note, does anybody here have a 1080p TV and not have the image come up from the 360? I was all tiku tiku tiku!  that I could finally use my TV's 1080p capabilities and it seems there is some issue with the patch's support for 1080p.

Nah I don't have a 1080p TV nor have I downloaded the update (will do it tonight), though I am on verge of getting at 1080p TV but that will all depend on taking advantage of people who want a PS3 .

You can stream videos to it now with WMP11 (though only wmv's will stream currently).

Odd that they couldn't at least have let it stream mpegs.

It's too bad that Xbox Media Center for the regular Xbox far outdoes anything Microsoft will ever release in terms of media for the 360. I suggest anyone looking for a good media box for their living room buys an Xbox mods it and hooks it up to their local network. I use it to stream video from my fileserver, as well as music, at this point I couldn't live without my modded Xbox. Funny thing is I really don't play burned games on it, go figure.

You can download Transcode 360 and stream DiVX, etc to your XBox 360 (only works on a MCE PC though, WMP will not do it), but still I give the edge to XBMC.
I think it says on the box, 'No Hispanics' " - Jeff Green of EA
