We have to stop thinking of hardcore experiences and start thinking of more open, universal, casual-esque experiences.
Yes, WoW is awesome, but there can really only be one WoW, so it's almost futile to try to compete against it in the main MMORPG space.
Instead, Wii MMORPGs should differentiate themselves. They should be more like casual web games, they should integrate WiiConnect24's "alway's on" feature and they should integrate the Mii feature. They should be less about combat or raiding or hardcore achievements, and more about cooperation, socialization, and individual spaces and creativity.
...They should be more like Animal Crossing yes... and they should be more like Neopets.
*note: for the purposes of this post, limited ORPGs like Diablo, Guild Wars and PSO/ PSU are excluded*
