Screw that!  It's hard enough escorting survivors with just zombies and psychopaths everywhere I turn...Human enemies are a *****! >=|

(Oh, I'm wondering if you even reached Day 2 or 3...Because you get more annoyances thrown into the mix...)

Yeah, the cult sucks, as do the special forces.

I'm just saying that, in general, I find games are better when they have fewer enemies which are more challenging individually than hordes of enemies which can be mowed down.

DR is not without its charm, though.

If it's a first person shooter.  I want horde upon hordes of enemies to mow down.  I don't want no driving.  I don't want no Puzzles that will have me scratching my head when all I want to do is shoot down hordes of enemies.  (That's why I like Serious Sam.)  I tend to be on the more enemies side then the few enemies which are uber side.

Serious Sam is still pretty impressive, they managed to get a TON of enemies on the screen. Sadly that kind of game really is not my type (at least the first wasn't, haven't played the second).

The first second or the second second?

Personally I prefer Painkiller, the weapons just feel more satisfying.

I think the amount of enemies is what makes it so much fun. Taking a lawnmower and running over a buttload of them just makes me feel good!

I hate the HD Revolution..First King Kong being basically unplayable, and now there's no patch for Dead Rising. Here are some select quotes..

Quote

Capcom has issued the following statement regarding the situation: "Unfortunately Dead Rising was optimized for High Definition TV's. Due to this, the font in the game might be difficult to read on standard definition TV's. If you are having a hard time reading the text, please try the following: 1.) Adjust the settings on your TV or monitor. 2.) Try using component cables instead of standard composite. 3.) Setting the TV to widescreen ratio (even though you may not have a widescreen TV) may help in some cases."
Wow. They didn't stop to think that standard definition TVs probably don't support component cables and widescreen..

EGM: What's up with the supersmall font? Why not include a font that's legible for non-HDTV owners?

YK: [Laughs] People should definitely have an HDTV before buying an Xbox 360.

apparently capcom has stated that they cannot fix the problem.  Apparently fixing text problems via a patch on Live is too big.  So the problem is going to stick unless they decide to make a director's cut or something equally as g@y.

Well the 360 does render things in 720p, I believe the PS3 does so too so don't be surprised to see similar problems with a PS3 playing on a Standard TV.

I just played through Dead Rising all the way as of last night, and I can say I am very happy with the game and I'm glad I had the opportunity to play it.

Now onto what I'm not happy about. Recently I bought THIS and I am using it as my primary display for my Game Systems. Even with having a super sharp HD Set the text is still really small. Capcom really pissed me off when they said they wouldn't fix this. Granted I can at least read the text now but I still strain sitting maybe 7 ft. from the TV. The HD switch seems as if it may be tough for a little while while the developers iron out the glitches. I feel bad for any of you guys who are playing Dead Rising on a normal TV, for me it was impossible. I had to wait till my new screen arrived to do anything with it.

Capcom, Microsoft, and Sony DON'T CARE about people with Standard TVs and TVs smaller than 32".

Why?  Cuz you didn't goto the big Best Buy store and spend $$$$$$$$ on the expensive 42" WS HDTV, which makes Sony VERY UPSET.  Do you not see they're trying to train you into buying overpriced boxes?

"You need this and this to play this.  But remember, you ought to have THIS in order to experience THIS the way we intended to show THIS!"

Why do people parroting the anti-HDTV thing always make it sound like you can only buy big-screen HDTV's?  It's like you're trying to turn it into a class thing or something.  It doesn't cost that much to get a
27" or 32" HDTV.

I'm not saying it excuses what basically amounts to bad QA by Capcom in this case.  It's pretty neglegent on their part.  But this isn't some nefarious plot by HDTV manufacturers to get you to upgrade.  To suggest that is just peurile.

yeah, improve when you also have to spend some other thousand-something dollars to buy OTHER equipment to get the FULL HD DRM crap revolution.....

and the obvious reason everyone says that you can only buy 42''+ HDTVs is really simple....the smaller the screen the harder it is discern the differences in resolutions....and another thing is....well, just get a 15'' monitor and up the resolution to 1600x1200.....
