I'm a little disappointed in the absence of games like Brain Training and Nintendogs shown so far. WiiSports seems to be the only game there that will attract non gamers, and that looks like GREAT fun. I was surprised at how quickly that guy they got up onto the stage learned to play. But... Where is the orchestra game? The fishing game? Where is Miyamotos new franchise, what is it? Where are all the other non-gamer-games? Considering Nintendos strategy, i'm puzzled at this.
The big thing for me is that Super Mario Galaxy is NOT the Mario I was expecting (even though it's probably the Mario game everyone else was expecting). I was expecting it to be the game that shows the controls are revolutionary, a Mario game built from the ground up for Wii, but it's basically just Super Mario 64 and Sunshine with better graphics and new twists. Not to say i'm not excited about it, I am! It's just not going to appeal to people outside the gaming spectrum. I can't understand why they would do this, maybe it's because they dont want their big non-gaming drawcard to be a game with Mario in it?
I suppose these type of games didn't show up straight away on the DS either. Maybe i'll get my Brain Training / Nintendogs / Weight Training games soon. I wanted to see more
In conclusion... Dear Nintendo: stop listening to Ian, thx.
