UK Nintendo WiFi ad has hidden message...
« on: February 14, 2006, 01:28:24 PM »
Not sure if this was posted somewhere else, I did a quick search and didn't see it anywhere.

Anyway this showed up on joystiq.com

Nintendo teases us with Wi-Fi trailer
Nintendo of Europe's Wi-Fi trailer didn't really catch our attention. It was just a flashy, surprisingly well-produced, ad for the Nintendo Wi-Fi-Connection, promising "No Wires, No Limits!" (No Mercy?). What we didn't (read: couldn't) notice was the word "REVOLUTION" scrolling behind the entire thing. You'll have to watch very closely: the letters take up the whole screen and appear like a scrolling shadow in the background. What impresses us is that someone--anyone--noticed this! Even knowing what to look for, several members of the Joystiq crew still had trouble seeing it.

Nintendo is being very tricksy with this one. They haven't confirmed that their upcoming console will retain its codename, Revolution; though, this would seem to support that it will be. We get it Nintendo, it's the cat's pajamas. Now can we play it?

Video can be found here:

Its hard to see the word "REVOLUTION" I had to download it to my computer and watch it frame by frame.

I'm now wonder why did Nintendo do this?

Besides the hidden message I have to say thats one hell of a cool ad.

I see them directed at the hardcore fanbase, not at new buyers...Obviously only hardcore Ninty fans would peer into the commercial deep enough to spot this...

Could it have been some cool dude working on the video putting in there as a secret?  I haven't looked at it yet, but it'd be a pretty cool trick that probably wouldn't be noticed by anyone higher up.

Edit:  Ehh, nevermind, that seemd a little too obvious.  Even without knowing of the message I probably would have seen it, although it would have probably taken a few more views before I actually deciphered what it said...

It seems cut off at both ends and that part where they show the globe.  All I can see is "VOL TIO".

That trailer is badass

I love the gospel choir music in the background.

I'm not a whore, ok? Really.....really, I'm not.

But, if she slips man....if she slips, I slide!"

But who will form the head?

Reggie. He can be the arms, legs, torso AND head at once because Reggie can be as much as he damn well pleases.
