There are a few reasons why this is untrue.
First of all, the technology is quite different. The sony device does not provide the same functionality that the Revolution controller does. It is only 2 dimensional and it couldn't be used for almost anything but pointing, and while that is the gist of the Rev controller, the additional buttons and movement options will make many games possible that this sony idea wouldn't. Not to mention that as an add-on to the eye toy this isn't intended for main stream games, but as more of an add-on to improve the eye-toy.
Secondly, this isn't and wasn't ever sony's main focus this generation. Even if Sony had an exact copy of the Rev controller designed years before Nintendo ever came up with (or, in this hypothetical situation "stole") the idea, I would give a lot of credit to Nintendo for having the balls to actually base an entire console around the idea. This would be like if the X-box 360's controller was like a beefed up DK bongo...if Microsoft could make great games with it, then more power to them.
Third, in video games "dirty moves" are the ones that make the industry better in most cases. Many PS2 games would suck without analog control, and Nintendo even used Sony's idea of using two analog sticks to make the GC controller better.
Technically speaking if Nintendo copied anyone with the Rev controller it would be those sh!tty games with the tennis rackets or baseball bats that plug into your TV. No one is copying anyone, there all just sharing ideas to bring us, the consumer, a better product....[joke]except sony who totally stole all their ideas from nintendo.[/joke]
