X-Men Legends
« on: September 12, 2005, 09:28:36 PM »
I just picked up X-Men Legends a few days ago and now I have a question...

If you fail at a mission is there a way to start that mission over w/o having to start from teh beginning of the game?

I am stuck on the Arbiter and didn't realize that I had a time limit until the game was saved with little time left on that meter....  You get more time by sealing holes but I can only fine one where I am at on the boat.

Someone please help me, I like this game, but if I have to start over from the beginning I will just quit now and never play this game again...  maybe...

edit: sorry this should have went in the gameplay stategy section, but it looks like no one ever goes there

Haha, you did the same thing a my friend's and I did.....

...and we haven't put the game back in the system yet.

Anyway, from what I have read, there is NO way to restart a level.  The game has the very very very bad problem of being able to save yourself into a hole.  We screwed ourselves over and don't want to play again any time soon.

Yeah, me and my buddy did the exact same thing, we started over, built our characters a little different and were able to make it through the second time.

The Arbiter was just a bad piece of game design IMO

AHHHH !!!!  Now I'm really pissed.....

well I guess I'll start over, and rebuild differently. Since I know how to work the combo system now I can atleast level up a lot quicker and I know where to put my stats now that I know which characters are good for what.

This game would be shelved for an indefinate amount of time if I didn't really want to play this game since it came out and if it wasn't as fun as it is.

Have you been saving the game regulary? Or were you and co. doing a marathon session? You know those fancy extraction points where you can change team members, shop, do danger room exercises, and save?  Use those, and make a backup, in cases like those. I've balked a few missions before and just started from the last save.

The arbiter was a decent mission, since it also tests how well you can use your diverse pool of x-men. Don't worry, it gets better from there.

Wow - that happened to you guys too? My friends and I rented it if only to test it out and play 4-player, but the same thing happened to us and we decided that we had had enough. So we gave it back on the first day. Shame...

I was saving often, and I was playing by myself.  I had to delete saves just to make room for the save, does the game make you clear enough room for multiple saves in the required game block?

Sorry for the delay. I'm pretty sure you've figured it out by now, but if not, here goes.

Yes, Legends does take up individual spots on the memory card. Its about 25 blocks per save, so it is a bit hefty. I'd reccomend either deleting some old data, or be extra careful. On the bright side, at least its not as bad as Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance. That was a whopping 50+ blocks per save! What are the proggrammers doing?

Cheapest price I could find online

It's an official 1019 one; should be plenty. I actually saw this at Superstore 2 or 3 days ago for $29.99 CDN! It's usually $39.99, so that's as good a price as it gets. I had one already though, but my friend bought it.

EDIT: Just looked at BestBuy and they charge $5 US for shipping so

here is Sams Club for $28.83 US including shipping

Oops, sorry BlackN, I didn't read that post of yours, and now looks like the offer is over (can't use the link). But I remember that it was a white one in the picture, not a grey one, so I think it was the 1019 one. Maybe if you browse the Sams Club site, it'll still be there.

Sorry kirby, your chain has ended. You are the weakest link. Uhh, yeah... You can't sit at the computer all night and overwrite any post that comes up in the GCN board. Unless you really wanted to. I, for one, wouldn't object...

I really liked this game as a party game. Playing alone didn't feel as good as having a 4 player session. Is X-Men Legends 2 the same? Is it more of a party 4 player game than a 1 player adventure?
