The corporations never fail to deliver misinformation.  I was watching Next@CNN and they said the DS had two screens, and then they said both screens were touch sensitive.  The called it the perfect gadget, and did not even mention the PSP.

Well frankly it's about time postive misinformation regarding Nintendo happened for once.  I've heard all sorts of inaccurate but postive things said about the PSP like the ability to play CDs and DVDs.  Sure they're wrong but it doesn't hurt Nintendo.  Usually when they're wrong about something they're blaming Nintendo for game violence.

I think that FOX is the worst about giving misinformation.  If you watch FOX news you are more likely to believe God talks to George Bush, there are still WMDs hidden somewhere in Iraq, and that the PS3 will have photo realistic graphics.

You know, every time a mainstream news source reports on videogames, or anything else that I actually know a good deal about....I can never believe how wrong they manage to get everything.
It finally dawned on me that they are probably that inaccurate about everything they report on. They probably rely on the fact that most of their viewers have never been to iraq, don't know much about science, don't listen to debates in congress that they summarize, etc etc. I'd imagine almost all news stories are broadly drawn and riddled with exaggerations and inaccuracies.

News stories are written fast.  Whoevever gets the information to them first is quoted and the story is sent out.  If a news source was late, would anyone read it?  Nope.  Not enough at least.  Untill the generally idea that faster is better changes, innacuracies will exists.  And it is also imporant to note that mainstream media knows FAR more about politics than technology.   These guys are english majors, political science majors, other liberal arts majors.  Not any sort of science or technology.  They are trained to report on the economy and other such industries.  And something interesting to point out, if the mainstream news is always wrong, where do you get your news on  video games?  Gamespot, ign, PGC, EGM, CGW, all of these agencies ARE mainstream.  CNN and Reuters etc are simply larger.  Ziff Davis and the others aren't exactly "under ground".
