Spike TV is Looking for Metroid Fans
« on: March 18, 2005, 06:27:28 PM »
Spike TV is holding an "open casting call" for fans of Metroid Prime 2 Echoes.  You could get gaming swag and a chance to contribute to Metroid Prime Hunters!

Are you a Metroid Prime fan?  Are you in the Los Angeles area on Monday?  Well, you're in luck!  Although the details are unclear, Spike TV is looking to for Metroid fans and will give away cool gaming stuff for your pad!  All you have to do is bring photos of your home and be enthusiastic about Metroid Prime 2 Echoes on tape.  Spike TV also promises a chance to meet some of the fine folks who made Metroid Prime 2.  Here is the official Spike TV release:

Spike TV: Metroid Prime 2 Echoes Ultimate Gamer

Spike TV seems to suggest that the winner—or winners—will somehow contribute to Metroid Prime Hunters for the Nintendo DS.  We can only speculate on the details.

I think the best way to show that you're crazy about Metroid Prime 2 would be to tell them that you bought it instead of Halo 2 or GTA: San Andreas.  When you compare the sales it's like just owning Metroid Prime 2 shows you're crazy for it.

After the first annual Video Game Hype Awareness Show, It will be a while before I think of spiketv as anything other than just another click on the remote.
Without data, you're just another schmuck with an opinion.

You guys havent seen the ultimate gamer right?

Ive seen it. Its actually a cool idea. I wish i lived in LA, to get some free stuff.

Basically they get the "biggest" fan of a game and take them to meet the makers and then give them free stuff

For Example. the "Biggest" Halo fan, got to visit Bungie, Meet the development team, Play Halo 2 before the street date. (He played Slayer vs the Game Testers, i bet he lost Badly). Then he got to ride in a dune buggy because it was "like the warthog" and finally they blew up his stuff. He acted all suprised but when he gets to his home , hes got a new Plasma Screen, new sound system ect...

Or the Ultimate Tony Hawk fan? He got to meet Tony Hawk obviously and got a free copy of THUG 2 before the street date.  So i guess it makes sense they would do it for a Nintendo game.

Whoever wins it, probably will get to go to visit Retro Studios and play them at Prime 2.  He might even get to play a more advanced build of Prime Hunters too... and probably get a Nintendo DS for free....

Hey that might be cool.  Might.

If whoever visits Retro, they could take him/her to their motion capture studio and capture some funky animations from that winner, effectively creating a new Metroid enemy for a future title like "Blogg Monkey" whoooooo

Oh man I wanna visit Retro. Austin is the home of lots of cool and awesome game developers. Ion Storm was there, and now Spector's new studio is. And then there's Retro and Ensemble Studios...
