Well I didn't even give this game a second glance after looking at the screenshots, but someone showed me the video at GameSpot and i'm impressed! It looks surprisingly great, maybe this is what we can expect from other 2D type games like Viewtiful Joe? Spider-Man 2 looks excellent, i'm impressed with how smooth it is and it actually looks damn fun. Wow, I might even end up buying this game. Watch the video if you have doubts!

This is Reggie's favourite DS game.

I over looked this one aswell, sinc eI thought it would just be a crummy port of the console version, but after watching a video of it, i was pretty impressed. I'll probably be getting this one at launch.

It's amazing how the DS can breathe new life into games you never thought you'd play.

Reminds me of those really cool old beat-em-up games that were for my friends genesis back in the day. In fact I remember one being a spider-man game that was cool and fairly fast paced. I wonder if those games have inspired them any in this one.

Woah, that actually looks really neat.  I like how the DS is pretty much FORCING developers to think of innovative stuff like this.  For some reason seeing that video made me sorta have a new confidence in the DS, I was afraid half the games 3rd party developers made would use the second screen as a simple map or something more inneccesant (like inventory and such).

Hmm, I seem to have lingered too long....

When talking about 3d capabilities of both screens, is there a difference in in game 3d action(actual gameplay) as apposed to 3d cutscenes.

(I do agree with you gamefreak I just need some clarification)

I also am looking forward to this game; the side-scroller beat-em-ups will really get a new level of excellence with this.  A nice old underused genre.

i was bored and decided what the hey and watched the video (before this thread) and was quickly shocked at this game.  I mean before i had 99.9% no interest in this game at all.  That demonstration video was awesome especially when the guy flys off the building, lol.  I reserved the game a while ago too.

DS = $149.99, Super Mario 64 x4 = $30, Spiderman2 DS = $30, Ridge Racer DS = $30, Madden DS = $30, running from debt collectors = new gaming genre!

P.S. I'm really liking Vicarious Visions work.......keep it up guys!

When I first heard about this game, I expected it to be a lowly port of the GBA version, just using the second screen as some kind of radar, so I really applaud Vicarious Visions for the direction they've gone in for Spiderman DS.

The 2D/3D style it uses is very reminiscent of my beloved Viewtiful Joe, and thankfully, the DS's touch screen capabilities have been put to good use as well.

Though I'm not completely sold on this game yet, it looks like it'll be a very solid launch title.

It seems to be getting very positive reviews, it has an average of about 90% at gamerankings.

Here's a great review for anyone having doubts about this game, it sounds awesome.

I have it, but I have only played the first stage or so.   (Most of my time has gone toward mastering Metroid training, Feel the Magic, and Asphalt.)  It's a cool enough platformer, nothing revolutionary, but it controls well and capitalizes on Spider Man's abilities in ways that are pretty fun.

i guess im the only one who wasent impressed.  I played the spiderman 2 on gamecube and thought it was good but much too short.  this seems like it will be even shorter

I have no plans to buy this game.. I bought mario 64 ds and like it since I loved the n64 version.
