I want Starfox to come back.  8-16 player would rock.  The single player could even incorporate voice command for telling your teammates what to do (or for those who didn't like it, set up a touch screen control for each one of your teammates just like it is in the Rouge Squad series).

Other ideas would include independant turrets, in which you fly with the control pad, but aim and fire with the touch screen.  I guess that would make it Hunters, except always going forward...

If you could see an enemy on the horizon, possibly tapping on him would bring up his view.  You get to see what he sees when you are within a certain radius of him.  It would make it much more difficult to shake somebody then in the 64 version.

There is so much potential for this to be the multiplayer killer ap.  Starfox64 was my favorite multiplayer game on the 64 before SSB, and that only barely beat it when it did.  Is anybody else ticked that they added Krystal to SFAssult?  I'm POed.  Peppy was the bomb.

YES.  I was hoping I could just pretend Star Fox Adventures never existed.  Now I can't and that sucks.

Boohoo, cry us a river...Some people happen to like the game for what it is...And no, I think adding Krystal makes perfect sense with Peppy in retirement...It's best to choose a character that's been in a game than to make up some stupid story about some completely new team member...

Why do they even have to replace Peppy in the first place?

To me, it seems like a sell out, trying even more to get SFA to be accepted.  I agree that it is better than ditching him for a different character, but what is the need to ditch him?  He was the best team member.  He didn't have the squeaky voice, or the stuck up attitude.  Peppy rocks, and it sucks that they are phasing him out simply becuase they wanted more sales on Dinosaur Planet.  If that was the kind of thing Rare was going to keep up, I'm glad they are gone, frankly.

I agree with the Starfox idea...just the thought of a multiplayer Starfox makes me squeal in fanboyish delight.

And though the general consensus against ports seems to be Nay, I for one would love to get some Conker action on my DS.

I could be sitting on the bus, and turn up the Mighty Poo song.  Captive audiences are the best kind, no?

As for just game ideas...I dunno.  I think I'll leave that up to the game designers.

One option for SFDS would be having the action in one screen and a com map on the second one, where you can draw things that your wingmates can see, quick orders, plans, etc. That way you can communicate plans without the enemy hearing them and you don't need to try shouting out positions but can easily mark them on the map. Or maybe a virtual cockpit that includes the com map. Of course, only the pilot would get the map, gunners and such would need the screen for control and would get any orders relayed by their pilot, anyway. Though I could see a game where you and your team man a capital ship and everyone has a position, comms officer, captain, gunners, navigator, etc.

I hate to say it but I get the feeling that most DS games will be using the second screen for maps etc.. Which isnt bad but I dont want to pay $150 just to see my map screen at all times. If thats the case just bring out the GBA2 and get it over with.

The second screen is useful when you use the touchscreen but don't use it to touch things in your main view. That way the stylus doesn't block your view and you could display additional controls on there. The second touch-controlled Prime 3 Arena control scheme uses the stylus as a mouse, there would be no point in moving the stylus around in your view area so the touch screen displays a map and buttons instead.

HEY ALL im back...
gots a few ideas

1) why not have a side scroll adventure with magic, class changes and skills short of like final fansty diablo mix. similar to this game i found on the internet only with better graphicswww.maplestory.com

2) also i think they need a good shooter other than metroid hunters something like medal of honor or Unreal tournament, with awesome online play.

3) possible (to beat the PSP's a$$) why not use the gba slot as a memory card for mp3's. then nintendo fans can carrey there music around too.  not sure if its possible but at least I tried

After reading that THQ plans to publish Tetris on the DS I came up wih the following idea:
Multitris DS! Perhaps you know Multitris, it's Tetris with multiple blocks falling at once. I was thinking have multiple blocks falling and let the player push them around with the stylus. Tap a block to rotate it, drag to move. Probably some restriction on how long a block is allowed to stay in the air (or the longer it is in play the faster it falls) to prevent people from juggling the things. More blocks continuously fall from above with the top screen giving you a preview of the stuff that's coming down. Could be combined with other game mechanics than Tetris as well though I think Tetris lends itself to this idea nicely.

What they should do is port the old lucasarts point and click adventure games to the DS

Who wouldn't like to play the Monkey Island games on their DS?

Monkey Island... that would be sweet. But I really DONT see that happening since what happened last year... (lucasarts -> sam & max -> NOOOO!!)
But I wouldn't mind a nice point-and-click adventure game on the DS.

I wouldn't because I already have ScummVM installed on my PDA and copied over the data files from almost all of my Lucas Arts adventures.

EDIT: What I'd love to see would be a fighting game based on the anime Mai Hime/My Hime. Heck, everybody already hass a standard form, a weapon form and a "child" (work kinda like the summons in most RPGs, replacement for the drive attacks in other fighting games). Of course, some characters like Mikoto and Sister Mary don't have their "child" defined in the series and Yukino's Diana isn't exactly useful in combat but I'm sure you could make something up for them. Mikoto is one of the cutest characters ever.
If you were to design the controls right (standard 3+1 indie fighter layout, that's the most intuitive) that game would own.
