According to IGNPS2, Square-Enix will be making a Final Fantasy VII Snowboarding game.  You know if Nintendo pulled a stunt like this, they would be shot to hell and back by gaming media and some fans (see: Metroid Pinball).  But, since it's Square, they are, of course, immune to attacks from the media (or at least less so than Nintendo).

Didn't Kennyb say it was in IGNPS2? Doesn't this mean it has something to do with PS2? Do IGN have a mobile phone section.....

To be fair, it's more the fans that scream about Metroid Pinball than the media.  I haven't heard anything positive or negative in the media about Metroid Pinball.  And I have heard quite a few people trash-talking Square's recent pimping of Final Fantasy VII: again, not in the media, but from fans.
That's my opinion, not yours.

So, can we call that FF7EC?

Yeah, java games... If you thought a GBA was a gaming machine lacking power perhaps you should compare it to a java phone. John Carmack said a java phone is about as fast as a 4.7MHz PC XT. If you remember, a SNES is on par with a 486 33MHz...

Ahh, PC XT.  I have fond memories of those.

Of course my friend and I ripped apart his old Panasonic Computer to upgrade our PC XT to a wholesome 8Mhz.  Plus we threw in an Intel based VGA controller and we had pretty pimped out machine, well for 1984 maybe...

Ah, those were the days...

It's just the snowboarding minigame that was actually IN FFVII 8 years ago... I wouldn't compare this to Metroid Pinball...

An XT would have been state of the art in 1984(sorta).

The year my friend and I put that system together was around 1994~1995.  I believe we also had an IDE hard drive thrown in via a daughter card on an ISA bus.  Ah, the good old days...

Yes but VGA in 1985? We didn't have a VGA until ~1994.

Actually, VGA was introduced in the mid-late 80's, by IBM

Squenix should REALLY put Advent Children in the theaters.  The only reason why Spirits flopped is because it didn't FEEL like Final Fantasy.  So now they have cold feet about theatrical releases.....a shame really.....
