The E-Reader...
« on: September 25, 2004, 09:08:46 AM »
I think this is one of the big reasons that they included the GBA port. You know all those small games that aren't really big enough to be an actual game to buy? That's what the e-reader is for. They can sell those cheap to make, but fun games for cheap prices. Also, u could actually have enchancements to games on the DS without having a second GBA.

I would actually love for the E-reader to be used more often...All it needs is a bit more push(more intricate use)...

like a standalone RPG card game where you could also use your cards to summon monsters in a DS game....

dont they have a pokemon game like that on GBA though?
I'll shut up now...

I think the E-Reader is gone...all those releases have disappeared before they happen. We used to get an ereader card in every nintendo power....  I think they have stopped using it in any way.

It was a cool concept but it was just too gad damn tedious.  I really wanted to like it, but swiping 10 times to play a classic NES game that won't save my high scores just wasn't really worth it.

The e-reader is not the first, but hopefully it is the last in a long line of underused really non useful peripherals.

I love the e-Reader. I have a big binder filled with those cards. I wish Nintendo would at least release the last of the Mario 3 cards, for those of us who still have e-Readers.
But yeah, I think the e-Reader is dead, at least here in America. The Japanese releases of Pikmin 2 and F-Zero GP both had e-Reader support, but were removed when brought to the US.
Strangely enough, I've heard about people playing Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen and finding e-Reader prompts on the new island chain...

i do think they could rivive the e-reader through the ds, if u think about what it is, it kind of makes sense doesn't it. I really do think the e-reader was ever bad idea,  I just think it could've been better.
