TalkBack / RE: e-Reader Scrapped for Europe
« on: August 20, 2003, 12:31:44 AM »
So? Australia spends more money per capita towards videogames then any other country, thats an irrelevent stat, taking a device like the ecard reader to europe without the killer app (animal crossing) to go with it is stupid.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Princess Mononoke influence in Zelda?
« on: August 19, 2003, 04:16:53 AM »
Zelda has loads of influences. OOT was practically written off Greek mythology. Pegagues boots that make him hover, much like the horse that guy rode to fly to medusa. Medusa was a Gorgon, who could turn people to stone. Gorons on the other hand ate stones.
The rupee is the national currency of India
Boomerangs are Aboriginal weapons.

This isn't a bad thing though as their is no such thing as true originality.

Nintendo dont translat their games into all languages because, simply because they dont directly distribute to eastern europe. Eastern Europe all speak Russian anyway (horrible sterotype I know), requiring a completly new character set. I'm willing to bet that there is definatly a scandinavian version of games too seeing as Sweden and Denmark are too of their biggest european markets (Mario has his own street in Sweden) and you western europpeans simply dont know about them.

TalkBack / RE: Nintendo Targeting China
« on: August 17, 2003, 04:18:53 AM »
Sadly guys, because it's a hot spot for piracy the Gamecube will never succeed in China. "Oh it's so hard to crack" thats only gonna turn consumers off even more.
et's say you were the average gamer in China, would you rather the console where teh makers would receive the money, or the console where you can buy 50 games with the change in your pockets? I'm guessing the latter. I've lived in a place called Vanuatu (check your atlases for a small bunch of islands just North of Fiji in the Pacific). I lived there in 1999, the reign of the playstation and N64. You could buy both consoles there. For $5US you could buy a Playstation game. For about $150US you could buy a N64 game. Take a guess which one was selling better. Sure, Sony wasn't making any money at all, but neither was Nintendo and in the end, the gamers there liked sony games better, because no one could be bothered geting the money togethor to play nintendo. The exackt same thing will happen in China, mark my words. Sure the Chinese wont be able to crack the gamecube, bt they wont sell any either.

Big W will always hold true. I hope.
But really, if things deteriate much more then I'm going to get a freeloader, althoguh importing games doesn't exackly help the current situation...
Oh well, they are only games I guess, there are other things in life. I have too many GCN games anyway. Although I want Soul Caliber 2.. And Skies... and  and and.

lol

Splitting up Amusement Vision seems sad, Monkey Ball and Daytona USA could be gone forever, and in their place.. sport, what a lousy trade off, I'ld rather play REAL sport, you know where you get hurt and pffed out and have fun? That one.
Overworks and Wow is the one I'm interested in though. It seems an odd combonation, seeing as Wow's biggest games were the House of The Dead games and Overworks with Skies of Arcadia, seems an odd mix. I would've just dissolved WoW and put Sonic Team with Overworks.

Yay for infernal tekken the piss out of the Xbox fanboy and selling the gamecube to the RE fan.

Not much to say except that today I FINALLY got Zelda!!!!!! unfourtunatly now that I'm completly stranded in boarding school I wont be able to play it until school holidays! It's just as well I guess seeing as I have exams starting MONDAY and i started studying LAST NIGHT. But i shall bow to Zelda every Morning and Night, and before exams, I'll see if I can take it in with me
But seriously these Exams are extremly important, They're all worth 50% of the semesters mark and so far I'm failing English and Geography and just srcaping a pass in History (Intro Calc and Physics are fine) so I need to do well in all of them. Apparently if i fail English for the year I have to repeat year 11, and theres no way I'm doing that. So yeah, i'll have lots of Important Gaming to catch up on after exams and ounce I escape from Boarding school (Soul caliber, Zelda and Skies of Arcadia spring to mind)
Anyway wish me luck, I'll tell ya how my exams go as they happen

Glad to see you like the site. It's not that kickarse, theres some incomplete bits and a horrible ad down the right hand side, it's also not as profesional looking as the only other Australan GBA site. :S
I'nm not planning on starting a GCN section because, the other head staffer guy doens't even own one, and theres allready plenty of great Aussie GCN sites out there, no point on me making one.
Anyway if you wana work for us reviewing GBA games or posting news then of course you can. Just write a review and I'll get the other guy to give you access to the news posting service

What? doesn't work? Its a redirect, it should work. Well try http://members.lycos.co.uk/gbanetwork1/ that should work for ya. Anyway the marketing guy they got back did the "lets see that again" ads, that everyone loved. after he left Nintendo marketing dropped and sony took over the market.

if this is a double post kill me.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Advance Wars.....why not?
« on: May 17, 2003, 06:11:23 AM »
It's a great game btu i think that advance wars 2 will be a waste. The new unts look gimmicky and there was nothing that they could conceivably improve upon without changing the whole formula of the game. I'll just save my money and not buy Advance wars 2

« on: May 17, 2003, 05:58:18 AM »
Advance Wars will keep you challenged for a LOONG time as the game is absolutly huge.
Pokemon is also really good, but it's addictive factor means your liable to finish the game and racking up 70 hours of gameplay in about a week.
