Yeah, this Dexit feels particularly painful because unlike the previous ones, it’s not really a design choice to “streamline” the game, it’s literally an infrastructure dying underneath us. At least with Sword/Shield we knew beforehand what wouldn’t make it across; this time, you’ve got six months to save everything you’ve accumulated since 2016 or it’s gone. The generations being unable to communicate with each other anymore is pretty nasty too. Pal Park and Poké Transporter were clunky, but at least they existed. Once Bank shuts down, the 3DS officially becomes an isolated island with no bridge to HOME anymore. For hunting shiny-locked Pokémon, going back to the older games definitely seems like the best bet compared to the lottery that is Pokémon GO raids or Dynamax Adventures. Sometimes it feels like pulling a slot machine for 15 minutes without even knowing if you’ll get the result you want at the end.

That’s definitely one of the more bizarre dreams I’ve read! I don’t usually remember my dreams either, but when I do, they can be just as random and confusing. Dreams really can come up with some crazy stories.

I didn’t really have much time for gaming in 2025, but I still managed to play a few games, mostly older titles. I played a mix of first-time games and replays, with a particular focus on RPGs and adventure games. I’m hoping to make up for it before the end of 2026 and play a lot more by then!

I’ve seen those digital code displays in stores too. It’s interesting how quickly Sony is changing its approach compared with Nintendo and Microsoft.

I really like this kind of thread. I also tend to rotate between several games rather than focusing on just one, especially when I have a big backlog. Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Rhythm Heaven are definitely great choices for this kind of casual gaming.
