General Chat / IS nintendo really worth so much?
« on: March 01, 2003, 07:01:25 PM »
Nintendo is the most profitable company in the gaming industry. They also make the best games; I'm not going to bother saying arguably the best because while companies such as Sega produce AAA games consistently.. Nintendo makes the most and their quality peak is higher. Nintendo also has the Game Boy line established.. as well as connections with important 3rd-parties. I'd say that Nintendo would be the best company to buy if you had 30+ billion dollars and wanted a solid place in the industry..

Nintendo Gaming / Rumour: Chrono Trigger 2 & Chrono Break?

Unlikely, but very intriguing. Two new Chrono games, linked together on the GCN and GBA.. it could work. I'd buy it..

Nintendo Gaming / Should Nintendo buy Midway?

Gamefreak: Why insult me? It's immature and all-around pointless since I'm not on the offensive in this thread. BTW, GameSpot cites SMB3 as the top-selling non-pack-in game of all time. "1990: Nintendo releases Super Mario 3, the all-time best-selling video-game cartridge" That's one instance.

There's more of course, and any way you look at it.. SMB3 outsold SM64..

Nintendo Gaming / Should Nintendo buy Midway?

In a word, no. Unless they want to fire virtually every single soul at the company and put EAD people in their place..

Mario: Super Mario 64 did not sell 9 million units. That would make it the top-selling non-pack-in US game of all time.. which it isn't.

If I recall, Super Mario Bros 3 (with 8+ million units sold in the US alone) is still the victor there. The Sims = 6+ million.

Nintendo Gaming / More Capcom rumors
« on: February 09, 2003, 04:17:06 AM »
I'd like to see Capcom as a 2nd-party to Nintendo, but not 1st-party. I don't condone MS' purchases, and the same goes for Nintendo.

If Capcom wants to detact from Nintendo, they can in a 2nd-party agreement. Not in a 1st-party one, of course.

Nintendo Gaming / Is FF12 coming to GameCube? (discussion/debate)

GOD = Approximately 1.35-1.5GB.

DVD = Approximately 4.7GB. (one side)

Do the math, and you'll see that one PS2 DVD is little more than 3 GOD's..
