Nintendo Gaming / Gamecube not reading disk. what the heck?

Hey everyone. Ok, so I bought a used Resident Evil game the other day at EBGames. The game was really scratched, and when I played it in my gamecube it was kind of skipping. So, EBgames garuntee they give you a new game if the one you bought doesn't work, right. Anyway, so I went there today to pick up my brand new copy of Resident Evil. and when I came home today to play it, i popped in the disk, but for some reason the Gamecube can't read the disk or something. I don't get it though, because the 2nd disk works perfectly fine, it's only the first disk that one work on it, and also all my other games work too. Both disks are brand new with NO scratches on them. What gives??? and does anyone know of EBGames will give me another new copy of the game or do something else about it? .. thanks.

i've had my gamecube since christmas and i havent had the money to buy any new games, so i dont have many, sadly.
i have:
- starfox adventures <--currently playing and trying to beat (very fun)
- pikmin <--thinking of trading that one in for a better game (so boring)
- mario kart double dash <--came with bundle (it's fun with 4 players)
- viewtiful joe <-- waiting for this one to arrive in the mail [ebay]
and thats it. i think i have the least amount of games compared to any gamecube gamer out there, heh. i'd buy more but games are so expensive, like over $30 for a decent game. so for now i'll stick with my ps1 until the games i want are preplayed and the price is lowered.

wow! this game looks so AWESOME! i'm a fan of the PC game and I just can't wait till the gamecube game comes out. who else is as excited as i am for this? also, the graphics look fantastic!
