Nintendo Gaming / RE:DS launch games
« on: August 05, 2004, 10:08:15 AM »
The console it self is going to worth the investment.  Think about it, the GBASP is over a year old and still selling strong at $100 new.  Now think you can save and get the used verision, yea but not by much, it runs just ten bucks under for $90.  The games also tend to hold their value very well.
Now about the launch
The games are unanounced, however I'm pretty sure they will market it as "afordable" as they can but retaining the high $180-200 price tag(which I persanally don't think is unreasonable)
Ok, well the DS at 200 needs something.  There will probably be one game and/or pheriphiel to add to the DS for free that nintendo gives you.  Now being the chrismas season, there will be giveaways in the adds for pruchasing a DS, or making a $250 purchase.  Games will most likely be discounted as well to help get people into the store and interested.  So with combining all sales and perhaps percentage back from a retailer reward card you can walk about with a whole in you pocket but a big pile of lauch titles.

Oh and Castlevania is my number one game for the DS I would be happy if Konami gave me a couple new catlvania games and thats all that came out for the system

I work at Gamestop, and start at Best-buy next week.  Also I have friends at shopko, walmart, toys'r'us, EB games, and gamers.  However nothing has been announced yet.  When pre-orders kick into high gear and they start to advertise there will be some anouncments on this.  If I hear anything that doesn't make to Planetgamecube first I will post it ASAP!

No, there may be ports (Example: Animal Crossing) but no disk drive will be included in the system.  Your friends got his facts wrong.

windrunner, I know him and and saw the box with my own eyes!!!! They got 4 in and I reserved the last one.  The box dose look good but it isn't part of the actual box.  I'm not actually certain to how easy it is to remove but I know that I can see the original box under it.  I had to be careful with the box for it wasn't saposed to be romoved from the back room.  To tell you the trooth I don't care if you believe me, it's not like this is anything big

Hey guys cool little bit I found out today.  This system and the bonus disk already made it to stores.  There in the back rooms waiting to be sold!!! To bad Toys'r'us CAN't sell them (not that they won't, but they really can't).  BTW-the box is cool, however it is just cardboard over an original designed Platinum box and easily comes off.  Just thought I would tell you guys this, if you didn't already know this.  If you don't beleive me go to a store to find out yourself.  I don't know if they will show it to you, considering that I know the guy at Toys'r'us and he told me not to tell anyone or he could lose his job so you didn't hear this from me

RPGs vandal hearts, FFCC, Secret of mana, and some no names!!!!!! FUN FUN FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!  oooooh harvest moon, viewtiful joe, castlevania .   Hmmm, were missing something... ok nintendo's games arn't on the list so add 20, making the list at 87/120.  Leaving room for 33 more games not from japan or not anounced.  This alone gives me hope and makes me happy, mainly because there is so much Square-Enix, and Konami love.  Looks good to me guys, and nintendo as always is earning  my yearly investments (me spending a couple thousand on games).  Though it makes me sad not to see a mario RPG, or Final Fantasy Tactics, or Earthbound however now I'm just being greedy.

Hmmmm, FFCC.... I want FFTDS (Final fantasy tactics DS).  This will be the ultimate machine for SRPG's!!!  Think about it!!! There so much square-enix has to work with.  Oh well, it will come along soon enough, for right now I am still EXTREMLY happy with the line up.  I'm just going to have to work on FFTA for now and finish the last 10 missions (If I can figure out how to get them unlocked, and yes I have the guide).
